We are seeking an enthusiastic and knowledgeable STEM Subject Tutor to help students build strong foundations and excel in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics. The ideal candidate is passionate about teaching, skilled at breaking down complex concepts, and able to adapt lessons to individual learning needs
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver engaging tutoring sessions in one or more STEM subjects (e.g., Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Computer Science).
- Assess students’ current understanding to identify strengths, gaps, and areas for improvement.
- Develop and implement personalized lesson plans tailored to individual learning styles and goals.
- Use a variety of teaching strategies, real-world applications, and problem-solving techniques to reinforce comprehension.
- Track student progress, provide constructive feedback, and adjust instruction as needed.
- Prepare supplemental practice materials, assignments, and enrichment activities.
- Communicate regularly with students, parents, or guardians regarding performance and progress
- Stay updated with curriculum standards, STEM advancements, and effective tutoring practices.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree (or current enrollment) in a STEM field (Mathematics, Engineering, Science, or related discipline)
- Strong subject matter expertise in at least one core STEM area.
- Previous tutoring, teaching, or mentoring experience preferred but not mandatory.
- Excellent communication, patience, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to explain complex concepts in a clear, approachable manner.
- Familiarity with Alberta/Ontario curriculum (or willingness to learn quickly). Preferred Skills
- Experience with educational technology or online teaching platforms.
- Knowledge of assessment techniques to evaluate student understanding
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple students or sessions
- Enthusiasm for inspiring students to pursue STEM careers and academic excellence
